One Hour Lecture $200. Plus travel, room and board
Bad-Bonnet Sue Lecture
This lecture includes a digital slide show of over 100 "bad- Sue" blocks and quilts. Most of these blocks are humorous and will keep you laughing during the show. Even the blocks that are in "bad taste" are included.
These are the blocks that have angered many of the more conservative quilters, so please know your audience before you book this lecture! During the lecture, several quilts and individual blocks will be available for viewing. Since the slide show is digital, there will be no need to dim the lights during the lecture. We bring our own projector. You need to provide a screen.
One Hour $200.00 plus travel, room and boardRedwork – an historical look back
This lecture is part trunk show, part history lesson as we look at redwork and how it evolved. Many embroidered items will be show from quilts to tea towels. For groups under 100, a small piece of muslin with a stamped image, needle and thread will be provided for a little hands-on at the end of the lecture. If your group is larger than 100, additional sets of muslin squares can be purchased for $10 for 25 sets.

Full Day Classes:
Appliqué with Fusible Interfacing - Stitch and Turn Method
![]() |
In this class you we will be using the book "Appliqué
Revival". Participants have a choice of four different Appliqué
blocks: A Scottie or butterfly (the simplest), a Sunbonnet Sue (with
embroidery touches) and a floral block (a little more detailed).
All these designs are suitable for the beginner. At the end of the class, you will have a four-block wall hanging, or a start on a larger quilt. This class is perfect for anyone who has never appliquéd before. You will need to use your sewing machine to "sew on the line", so a good working machine and the ability to "steer" it are important. Appliqué by hand, machine and with embroidery will be demonstrated. How you finish your block will be your choice. Maximum number of students: 20 Class length - 6 hours Fee - $200 |

Appliqué with Heat-resistant templates - Starch and Press Method
This class is suitable for those who like the look of fine "needle-turned" hand appliqué, but can't master that technique. Using liquid starch, heat resistant template plastic, and our iron, we will learn how to turn the edges under for perfect appliqué.
Appliqué templates for Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam will be provided. If participants desire to do their own appliqué pattern, it will be up to the discretion of the teacher, if the pattern is simple enough to tackle in the class. At the end of the class, you will leave with two appliquéd blocks, hopefully completed.
